Thick Chocolate Protein Shake

Are you wondering, 'Should I get a guilty milkshake from my local dessert shop?' Don't do it!

With this recipe, you can make your own succulent thick protein shake which is just 400 calories and you'll get 38 grams of protein in this high protein chocolate shake!

The U.K NHS recommends 55.5 grams of protein per day for a male and 45 grams per day for a female but these figures are based on a normal, relaxed lifestyle. So, if you're a pro-athlete which we know you are and want to get the gains, you'll need roughly 0.6-1 gram per pound of bodyweight which means that this delicious shake should give you a lot of the protein your body will be craving post-workout.

The ingredients are simple:

- 1 mini FULFIL bar (we used the chocolate hazelnut one). You can almost always find one of these in your MEAN PROTEIN box.

- 200ml 1% fat milk (but you can use any milk if you don't want low calories)

- 1 whey box chocolate sachet (as seen within Mean Protein boxes).

- Half a frozen banana.

- 50ml almond milk (can be replaced with regular milk)

The Easy Recipe:

Step 1: Chop up and freeze half a banana.

Step 2: Chop up the mini FULFIL bar into chunks small enough to blend easily in your blender.

Step 3: Add all of the ingredients into the blender and blend up the mixture until smooth and thick. For an even more refreshing smoothie, add a couple of ice cubes into the blender but if you live in cold Northern Ireland like us, best to leave these out.

Step 4: Pour the thick chocolate protein smoothie into your most aesthetic glass and post it on social media for your friends to see how healthy you are! Don't forget to tag us on Instagram @mean_protein or @MEANPROTEINBOX on Facebook.

Remember that Mean Protein gives you a monthly or weekly selection of fresh protein bars and snacks, as well as whey from the biggest and best brands in the U.K. Plus, a Mean Protein selection box will save you up to £15 per month when compared to buying protein bars in the shops.
