Mean Protein Breakfast Berry Smoothie

Get almost all of your vitamin C and 29 grams of protein into your morning routine with this delicious, easy-to-make and low calorie protein smoothie.

The method is simple, drop all of the ingredients into the blender bottle and blend for a minute. Plus, if you get up late and have no time for breakfast before work, you can make this healthy mean protein smoothie in advance and pop it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. So, make it now and get the gains later.

Simple ingredients:

1. A handful of frozen raspberries

2. A handful of blueberries (I used fresh ones but frozen are fine too).

3. 100ml of skimmed milk

4. One scoop of protein powder (I would recommend the strawberry Bulk (Bulk Powders) powder to keep the fruity protein smoothie taste. If you want fresh flavours of protein each month, subscribe to a MEANPROTEIN box here.

5. Half of a banana (I cut mine up and put it in the freezer the day before to make a thick smoothie)

6. Ice to make the protein smoothie thick. Skip this if you're making it in advance though.

Method:

Literally blend it until it's a smooth pink protein smoothie as seen below. If you find it to be too thick, simply add more milk or water to the smoothie.

Then just add on whichever toppings you want. If you're trying to loose weight, why not swap out the granola for strawberries? But personally, I used a handful of blueberries, a handful of granola and a few frozen raspberries and it was delicious.

This shake tastes like a fresh, fruity mix which almost has the texture of ice cream but if you prefer a drinkable smoothie, discard the ice and do not freeze any of the ingredients in advance.

MACROS:

Protein: 29 grams

Carbs: 38 grams

Fat: 4 grams

Fibre: 9 grams

Only 280 calories with no toppings, making this a high protein fruity breakfast or snack for a cutting diet.

Enjoy...
