It's almost the end of lent and therefore, Easter. A day to celebrate and eat all the goodies that you've given up for the past few weeks which is why we have put together this delicious, easy to make, high protein chocolate recipe. Have you ever craved a guilt-free chunk of chocolate? Look no further than this easy recipe.
WARNING: Are you on a diet? Halve all of the ingredients below as we found it extremely difficult not to devour it all in one sitting...
Ingredients
1. Half a cup of coconut oil (have a look in B&M or somewhere similar for this as supermarkets charge a fortune for the same thing).
2. Half a cup of cocoa powder.
3. Three tablespoons of honey or maple syrup.
4. 20g protein powder (chocolate is the best flavour for an authentic taste)
5. A little milk (about 20ml)
Method
1. This is possibly the easiest method as all you need to do is pop the coconut oil into a saucepan and gently melt the oil over a low-medium heat.
2. Next, stir in the cocoa powder and honey/maple syrup until smooth.
3. Then mix in the milk and protein powder. This will make the mixture a lot thicker, so make sure to keep on stirring so that it doesn't stick to the pan.
4. Put this all into a container or tray and pop on any toppings you like. As seen in our photos, we added some smooth peanut butter to ours to increase the protein quantity but if you're on a diet, maybe stick to the authentic chocolate taste or you could try out some fruit, nuts or seeds.
5. Finally place it in the freezer until chilled and hardened. This should be at least two hours and then place it in the fridge to chill until served.
6. Split this up into slices and you've got your delicious protein chocolate!
